Well, I fell backwards while trying to pick a package up off the front porch. I had the storm door partially open and my left foot down on the porch. When I fell, the storm door slammed against my leg and dug its ugly sharp teeth into both sides of my left calf, leaving a huge and deep cut on one side and a smaller one on the other. This was July 1. (I really do need to stop falling.) The large wound started turning black 2 weeks later, so I went to the ER and ended up in surgery. Scary stuff, even for me. It’s one thing to work on a patient. It’s squicky when it is your own leg.
After 2 months, they say the wound on my inner calf is: 3.2 cm long (actually longer – I’m going to measure it myself,) 4 cm wide, 1.5 cm deep with a pocket under the flap that is 2.5 cm deep. Ick. The one on the outside is smaller. Beware of storm doors. They’ll chew your leg up.
